Amec under fire for delay

Durham councillors have criticised Amec after a city centre project was delayed by two years.
Councillor Mike Syer said his colleagues have been left in the dark about delays to the £25m Walkergate project. He said councillors were last week assured that the joint venture between Amec and Durham City Council would start work on a hotel and leisure development later in the year.
Amec and Durham City Council leadership had not responded as CJ went to press.
