Worsley Digga Crusher makes debut at RWM
Debuting at RWM on the Worsley Plant stand was the Digga Crusher
900, an excavator-mounted jaw crusher bucket capable of processing
60t to 70t per hour. The unit attaches to 20t to 30t class
excavators via a quick hitch, has a 900mm x 450mm jaw opening, and
is powered by the hammer circuit.
Weighing 3.5t, the unit requires a hydraulic feed of 170 litres/min
at 230bar and can be manually adjusted to produce end-product sized
from 125mm down to 25mm. Dust can be minimised by positioning the
unit close to the ground, and if it becomes jammed, the operator
can invert it using the excavator boom.
Worsley managing director Sean Heron said the unit extends the
ability of the excavator and will be especially useful in small
cramped demolition jobs, where there is not enough work or room for
a full-size crusher. Swapping between the crusher and a normal
bucket only takes a few seconds and it takes about 10 minutes to
change the product size, he said.
While no crushing force figures were available, the unit
successfully reduces granite, Heron said.
