SNP asks police to investigate Bovis' Holyrood appointment
Lothian and Borders Police has been asked by the Scottish National
Party (SNP) to investigate Bovis Lend Lease's appointment for the
£431m Holyrood parliament building project.
SNP member Fergus Ewing has written a formal complaint to police
asking them to examine how Bovis was able to win the contract
despite being dropped off the shortlist of bidders after submitting
a bid £1.2m higher than other bidders.
Ewing also claims that Bovis was able change its bid, whereas
others could not, and that a deal was made with Holyrood project
director Barbara Doig to
reinstate Bovis.
Bovis denies all the claims and said it has "nothing to
worry about".
Lothian and Borders Police confirmed it had received a letter from
the SNP and that it is considering whether there are grounds for an
investigation.
