Brandon boosted by record profit


Brandon Tool Hire has reported a record pre-tax profit of £2m for the six months ending 30 June - an increase of 101% on 2003, .
In the same period the company also increased turnover by 19% to £22.3m, up from £18.7m, with organic growth of 15%.
According to Brandon chief executive Charles Skinner, turnover and profit for July and August have also hit record levels, continuing the trend.
"This has been another strong trading period," said Skinner. "Organic growth has been
excellent, margins have improved year-on-year and profit has
doubled," he added.
The company has added 26 branches to its national tool hire network so far this year, bringing the total to 124.
Brandon has stated that it will have 130 depots by the end of 2004, either through further acquisitions or greenfield site developments.
