Griffiths-McGee wins Ascot race
Griffiths-McGee has won the contract for the demolition of the old
grandstand at
Ascot racecourse.
Phase one work in the paddock area has already started and
demolition of the main grandstand began this week, immediately
after the final race meeting on Sunday.
The contract is worth about £1.5m and is scheduled for
completion in 10 weeks. In addition, there will be a six to
seven-week period for foundation work in association with the new
multi-million pound Ascot redevelopment.
The company was also sponsor for the last race on the
Sunday card.
Laing O'Rourke has the shell and core contract for the new
grandstand that forms the centrepiece of the £180m
redevelopment of the racecourse.
