JLG, which claims leadership in the UK powered access market with a
share of more than 30%, has launched a 38m platform height
articulating telescopic boom lift.
The 1250AJP's two telescopic booms give a horizontal reach of 19.3m
and can lower the operator from the full 38m to ground level in
less than two minutes. Full-reach platform capacity is 230kg (450kg
within a
restricted envelope).
JLG UK sales and marketing director Andrew Fishburn said the unit
will appeal to steel fixers and the petrochemical industry.
The unit has retracting axles and a sub-20t weight and boom
configuration that folds to less than 11.5m in length, which means
the unit can be transported on a non-STGO low loader.
The 91250AJP has three steering modes to aid manoeuvrability and
speed better than truck-mounted units, while its foam-filled tyres
prevent punctures that could compromise stability.
n By converting the traction motors on its ES series scissor lifts
to electric, JLG said the range of the units has been increased and
the parts count in the drive system slashed by two-thirds.
Fishburn said the lifts have an extended running time that comes
from the efficiency of the electric motor (80% to 85%) against
about 40% to 50% when converting it to hydraulic power.
