Norwest withdraws from bidding for MoD Oxford scheme
Norwest Holst has made a tactical withdrawal from bidding for a
£4m-plus Ministry of Defence (MoD) deal in Oxfordshire.
Local contractor Leadbitter Construction has taken the firm's place
on the bid list for the scheme at Dalton
Barracks, Abingdon.
Neither the MoD nor Norwest were prepared to comment on the reasons
for the retreat.
Also in the hunt are McNicholas plc, Mowlem, Trant and
Warings.
The scheme includes a new central servicing facility, offices,
stores and a tanker fuel park. The winning contractor is expected
to emerge in November.
