Higgins Construction has won a £14m contract to refurbish six housing blocks on the South Acton estate in west London.
The contractor has also secured a £1.4m order from Ealing Council for the development of a new community centre. Work will begin on both projects in January 2005.
New bathrooms, kitchens, heating systems and security measures such as door entry phones are included in the refurbishment work on 350 houses.
The South Acton estate is the largest in west London, as home to around 5,000 residents of 2,000 homes.
The first stages of regeneration work began in 2002 with a tower block being demolished and the whole project is expected to take around 15 years.
