Drummond new chief executive at BDP

Building Design Partnership (BDP) has chosen Peter Drummond as its next chief executive.

Drummond, who started in his new role today (Friday), succeeds Roy Adams who has been in the post for 10 years, and did not wish to stand for election again.

The Adams era has seen BDP’s turnover grow from £24m to £62m and its design reputation blossom.

Drummond, director of town planning, joined BDP in 1980 and has been responsible for urban planning and large scale masterplanning development projects throughout the country.

In 1999 Drummond was appointed chairman of BDP Southern Region, comprising London and since 2002 Bristol and Southampton offices, overseeing a rise in staff numbers from 225 to 395 today.
