FC Shepherd creditors are angry after a new contractor, Alderney Construction, started trading from its premises.
A winding-up petition for FC Shepherd was presented on 5 September by Brent Fabrications after it waited six months for payment for work carried out at Lewisham Hospital.
FC Shepherd claims to have ceased trading and to be in receivership. However, the name of the receiver appointed has not been given and the company refuses to discuss the matter.
Alderney Construction, which trades from the same address, was incorporated three days after FC Shepherd received the petition. In the year to 31 March 2003, FC Shepherd produced a small increase in turnover to £5.4m, but a £66,909
pre-tax profit became an operating loss of £291,480, apparently after a loan of £298,668 to its director Nicholas Wright. The accounts note that this loan was repaid after the year end.
