Billington and Taywood head CJ Awards winners


A thousand guests witnessed Billington Structures and Taylor Woodrow collecting a pair of trophies each at the Contract Journal Construction Industry Awards 2004 at London's Grosvenor House Hotel last night.

Billington was named Specialist Contractor of the Year and picked up the IT Award as well. Taywood won the Marketing & Business Development Award and also scooped the Long-Term Partnership Award as part of the Strategic Alliance Partnership, which includes NG Bailey, Staveley Services and Rotary Group.

Taywood was also highly commended for the prestigious Silver Helmet Award for Safety, which was won by Clugston Construction.

Building Contractor of the Year went to Carillion Building, while Sir Robert McAlpine was highly commended.
