Jarvis looks to N Ireland PPP to improve fortunes

Jarvis's fortunes in Northern Ireland are looking a lot healthier than on the mainland, with the firm chalking up a place at one of two PPP schools projects to reach the shortlist stage in Down and Connor and in Derry.
The Trustees of the Diocese of Down and Connor have selected Jarvis and a consortium containing AWG and O'Hare McGovern for its £30.3m De La Salle Schools project. The scheme will provide new accommodation and services for two grammar schools in Knock and Downpatrick, and two primary schools in Carryduff and Portglenone.
Our Lady and St Patrick's College in Knock will house 1,260 pupils in a 13,380m2 school. St Patrick's Grammar School in Downpatrick will accommodate 665 pupils in an 8,515m2 facility.

St Joseph's Primary School in Carryduff will house 520 pupils and St Mary's Primary School in Portglenone between 231 and 260 pupils.
The Derry Diocese schools project for client St Canice's Educational Trust has lined up John Graham and O'Hare McGovern to pitch for the contract to build two secondary schools: St Cecilia's College and St Mary's College. Each will house around 850 pupils.
Jarvis is already shortlisted for East Down Institute of Further and Higher Education's £35m scheme, where it is up against a Bilfinger Berger, John Graham and Farrans consortium. The scheme involves schools at Downpatrick, Newcastle, Ballynahinch and the Lisburn Institute.
Finally, Jarvis is up against the same Bilfinger Berger-led consortium for the £17m Lagan College and Tor Bank School project for client the South East Education and Library Board.
