Plymouth chooses three for £50m education PFI
Plymouth City Council has chosen King Sturge, Interserve and Mowlem
to bid for its £50m PFI education project. The three will
compete for the right to design, build, finance and operate the
Whiteleigh Learning Campus and the Plymouth Primaries
Project.
The Whiteleigh Learning Campus will accommodate 1,500 pupils and
includes secondary, primary and special educational needs schools,
along with some facilities for community use.
The Plymouth Primaries Project comprises six separate primary
schools, with nurseries or childrens' centres and will handle a
total of about 2,100 pupils.
It is expected that the majority of the schools will be new
buildings, while the remainder will be a mix of new build and
refurbishment.
