Galliford Try has increased its presence in the affordable housing market after snapping up £91m-worth of projects in just four months.
The workload in this sector has climbed step by step since 30 June, the end of Galliford’s financial year, with the latest partnership a tie-up between Galliford’s subsidiary Midas Homes which will be working for a combination of the North Cornwall District Council, Westcountry Housing Association and the Guinness Trust.
The result will be 173 housing units, including 59 homes for sale, at Bude in Cornwall.
This builds on contracts Galliford has won over the past three months with the Devon & Cornwall and the Toynbee Housing Association.
David Calverley, chief executive of Galliford, said: “Affordable housing is one of the key markets for the group and we are benefiting from the growing level of expenditure in the sector.”
