Miller Construction has been awarded an £3.1m contract to build the first of three homes for the elderly in Derbyshire.
The contract, which is Miller Construction’s fourth project for Derbyshire County Council and the third under the Partnering Framework, will see the construction of Whitestones – a 40-bed home built at Manchester Road, Chapel-en-le-Frith.
Another 40-bed home will be built in Castle Gresley and a further development is planned in Chesterfield.
The new home will replace an existing home for older people and will be the first new home built in Derbyshire for seven years. Construction is scheduled for completion in September 2005.
