Worker killed after fall from roof

The owner of a roofing firm has died after falling from a property he was repairing in east London.

The unnamed 42-year-old had been contracted to carry out roofing works in Leyonstone when the incident happened on 10 November. Her died two days later. 

The roof had been retiled and was almost complete when the man fell from height into the rear garden of the property.

The Health & Safety Executive has launched an investigation. The fatality is the 49th in the construction industry since the start of April.
