Mouchel Parkman wins £84m of council work

Mouchel Parkman has secured a number of new contracts with local government clients worth £84m in total.

The group has been named preferred bidder for two contracts worth an initial total of £60m. The first of these is with Oxfordshire County Council for property services over a seven-year period (extendable to 10 years) and is valued at £5m per year. The second is a bundled services contract with Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council for property and highways services over a 10-year period (extendable to 20 years) and is worth £2.5m per year. Both contracts are due to commence on 1 April 2005.

These successes come on the back of several other recent wins and contract extensions, totalling £24m:

  • A three-year extension to the existing five-year highways consultancy contract with Wokingham District Council.
  • A three-year highways contract (extendable to five) with the London Borough of Richmond.
  • Contracts for an initial five year period (extendable to 15 years) for highways management and street lighting with Westminster City Council.

Chief executive Richard Cuthbert commented “We are delighted to have secured these contracts which serve to confirm Mouchel Parkman’s position as a leading provider of professional managed services to local government. The Oxfordshire contract reflects the excellent levels of service that we are already providing to other local authorities, while the Knowsley contract in Merseyside, which will be operated as 2020 Knowsley, has been won through our 2020 Liverpool partnership and represents the first step in the expansion of that subsidiary.”
