A new procurement pack to help simplify the process of agreeing PFI housing contracts, and help speed up delivery of decent and affordable homes, has been launched today (Wednesday) by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.
The Housing Private Finance Initiative (PFI) Procurement Pack, jointly developed by the department and 4Ps, provides a step-by-step guide through all the stages of developing a housing PFI project as well as standard contract documentation.
"PFI is not only a key component of the Decent Homes programme, it also has a significant role to play in the provision of affordable housing for rent,” said housing minister Keith Hill. “With £1.22bn dedicated to our housing PFI programme over the next three years, this procurement pack could not have come at a more important time."
The document will be used by councils invited on to the third round of the PFI programme in May this year, as well as by those who make successful bids for a place on the fourth round, launched in October.
