German construction hoist and lift manufacturer Steinweg is currently restructuring its operations as its domestic market is stagnant.
The majority of the company’s output is destined for the domestic market including several models tailored to German construction industry requirements that have little or no export potential.
However, managing director Klaus Steinweg said the poor economic conditions in Germany are not its only problem as the strong Euro is making the situation worse.
He said following restructuring production should return to normal and the company will continue to support its customers.
Martin Gibson, director of the Steinweg UK, said product and spare parts in the UK market would be received as normal.
