East Riding unveils £152m framework deal

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has advertised its construction works framework agreement worth £152m in total.

The four-year framework is divided into three lots: works up to £500,000 (worth £28m over the four years); works worth £500,000-plus (£68m over four years); and works worth £2m-plus (worth £56m over four years).

As well as a "significant proportion" of the council's building work, the framework may cover some major engineering projects and some individual projects, such as the £6m Bridlington Spa refurbishment, the £4m Driffield Community Leisure Centre and the £4m Willerby and Grovehill depots.

The council also expects to secure funding from Building Schools for the Future (likely to amount to £40m) during the final three years of the framework. The council may use contractors on the framework to carry out work arising from this.

The deadline for expressions of interest is 17 January 2005. The council expects to let the contract in mid-2005.
