Heavy move plan for JCB

JCB has announced plans to relocate its heavy products division from its present town centre location in Uttoxeter to a new out-of- town facility alongside the A50.
A 50-acre site next to JCB's World Parts Centre is the preferred site and a planning application will shortly be submitted.
The company said moving the heavy products division would enable the existing workforce to be retained as well as providing additional employment.
Commenting on the plan, John Gill, director of JCB Heavy Products, said: "We have outgrown our current severely constrained facility and urgently need a new home."
JCB Heavy Products manufactures 18 tracked and wheeled excavator models from 7t to 46t.
