CV sales still set for record

November registration figures show CV sales are still on track for
a record in 2004.
According to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, there were 33,600 trucks and light commercials registered in November - an 11.7% and 9.3% rise respectively. In the year to date (YTD) almost 358,000 trucks and light commercials have been registered.
Medium vans (1.8t to 2.6t) were again the biggest winners, recording a 22.7% increase in the month and 17.5% YTD.
Heavy van (2.6t to 3.5t) registrations grew 10.7% (15.5% YTD) and light vans (up to 1.8t) reversed the YTD performance of -2.2% to record a 4.2% monthly increase.
Pick ups and 4x4s edged downwards, by 0.8% and 0.7% in the YTD. Truck sales jumped 11.7%, pushing the YTD figure up 1.3% to stand at 52,205.
