McLean buoyed by £6.6m profit announcement
David McLean's latest turnover of £210m has generated a
pre-tax profit of £6.6m.
Two of the group's three operating divisions, contracting and
housebuilding, were in profit in the 12 months to 30 June, while
the property development wing was slightly in the red.
Housebuilding was the best performer, with a profit contribution of
£8.4m on a turnover of £84m, while the contracting
division ran up a profit margin of 3.1% on its turnover of
£120m, delivering a profit of £3.8m. Property development
lost £500,000, an improvement on the previous year.
The three divisions' figures are all enhanced by the non-allocation
of holding company costs of £3.3m.
McLean's homes business completed 450 units at an average selling
price of £188,000.
The landbank stands at 2,900 units.
