Latham announces £2.2m pre-tax profit
UK timber distributor James Latham has announced improved pre-tax
profit of 60% to £2.2m in the half-year to 30 September, with
turnover increasing 11.6% to £54m.
"These results show a significant improvement on the same trading
period for last year across all divisions of the business," said
chairman Roger Latham.
"October and November have also seen good levels of sales and gross
margin, however, I am anticipating the second six months of the
financial year are unlikely to match the first six months in
absolute terms, although the result is expected to be
satisfactory," he added.
n Latham has launched a timber sampling kit to help make customers'
timber product decisions easier. The box contains 18 species
including black walnut, obeche, meranti and southern yellow pine.
