Amec named preferred bidder for £220m hospital PFI

Amec has today (Wednesday) been named as preferred bidder, in a jv with Innisfree, for a £220m hospital PFI in Colchester.

The 30-year contract for Essex Rivers Healthcare NHS Trust is expected to reach financial close in the autumn.

Construction of the 750-bed hospital is due to start at the end of the year with completion set for late 2009.

Amec's UK PPP portfolio now stands at 11 projects.
