Construction fatalities reach 64 as worker electrocuted

The construction industry has claimed another victim - the 64th since April - following a death on a Staffordshire fam yesterday (Wednesday).

The man, who has not been named, was working at Barn Farm, in Rugeley, when he was electrocuted.

Stones were being delivered on site using a tipper truck but as the tipper raised up it made contact with a power line. The victim had been in contact with the truck at the time.

The Health & Safety Executive has launched an investigation, but did confirm that the incident does count as a fatal in construction rather than the agricultural sector.
