£42m Belfast Institute of Further and Higher Education PPP project up for grabs

The Belfast Institute of Further and Higher Education has advertised a £42m PPP project to design, build, finance and operate a new city centre college.

The scheme will provide approximately 17,022m2 of facilities for 2,268 students in the centre of Belfast. The Belfast Insitute has two existing city centre buildings at Brunswick Street and College Square East. It is offering either the Brunswick site or an alternative to be found by the winning PPP concessionaire.

If a new location is chosen, both existing building sites may be offered to the concessionaire for redevelopment, or just the College Square East site if the Brunswick Street site is chosen.

The maintenance and operating period is expected to be between 25 and 30 years and is worth approximately £960,000 a year. Firms have until 15 April to express interest in the project.
