Expressions of Interest for
Construction of St Helens Central railway station
Merseyside Passenger Transport Executive (Merseytravel) and Network
Rail Infrastructure Limited invite expressions of interest from
suitably-qualified and experienced contractors to be included on a
tender list for the construction of a new railway station at St
Helens Central.
It is envisaged that between five and eight contractors will be
selected. The works will be on the site of the existing St Helens
Central railway station. The project has been completed to detailed
design level and includes the construction of:
* a new station building
* a new pedestrian overbridge
* 2 lifts, one to each platform from the pedestrian overbridge
* 2 flights of steps, one to each platform from the pedestrian overbridge
Contractors wishing to qualify to receive a Pre-Qualification
Questionnaire (PQ) and participate in this tendering competition must
be able to demonstrate that they are in possession of a railway
'contractor's assurance case (CAC)' in relation to major building
works and/or major civil engineering works or be able to demonstrate
a commitment to obtaining such a CAC in order to meet the project
programme timescales.
