Disciplinary for CITB director
Eddie Ruthven, assistant director of the CITB-ConstructionSkills,
was this week expected to face a disciplinary hearing in the wake
of an internal investigation.
A statement from the board said: "During an internal investigation
into issues surrounding the financial reporting of pre-paid
vouchers for the health and safety test, three members of staff
were suspended, as per CITB-ConstructionSkills protocol.
"The investigation is completed and the suspensions lifted on all
three staff members."
It is understood that Ruthven was suspended for two weeks, during
which time he was not allowed on CITB premises or to talk with any
member of staff.
Having returned to work, he is said to still face accusations of
gross misconduct. It is believed that there are other, deeper
administrative and personal issues at stake than those mentioned in
the board statement.
CITB-ConstructionSkills declined to comment.
