Noisy sites head list of complaints in 2004

Noise continues to be the cause of most of the complaints made to the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS).
Nearly one-third (31%) of the 499 complaints made to the CCS last year were due to noisy sites. This is an increase of 10 percentage points compared with 2003.
'Other' complaints and those about inconsiderate behaviour accounted for 13% each, representing an improvement over 2003 in both cases, especially so for inconsiderate behaviour.
CCS-registered sites tended to be slightly cleaner in 2004, with just 11% of complaints being about dirt.
The CCS monitored 4,143 sites last year, compared with 3,014 in 2003. This means in 2004 there was one complaint for every 8.3 sites. In 2003, the rate was one complaint from 8.6 sites
