Fitzpatrick tunnel contract nearly two years late

Fitzpatrick's £15.5m refurbishment of London's Blackwall Tunnel will run nearly two years late, the project's client Transport for London (TfL) has confirmed.
CJ understands Fitzpatrick has encountered problems with one of its subcontractors, which have led to more delays on the project. The contract's completion date has changed on three occasions.
Works for the tunnel were due to be completed in March last year.
A TfL spokeswoman said: "Fitzpatrick has resolved the difficulties that caused the delays, and anticipates completing in June. We will consider penalties when the work is completed."
Fitzpatrick refused to comment.
