Miller checks in for Aldershot health centre
Miller Construction has scooped a contract to design and build one
of the largest primary healthcare centres in the UK.
The deal, worth more than £20m, is the Aldershot Centre for
Health in Hampshire. The client is local company, the Wilky
Group.
The four-storey complex, spanning 12,000m², will be located on
former Ministry of Defence land at Hospital Hill and is part of the
National Health Service's plan to encourage the private sector to
provide one-stop health centres.
The complex will be shared by both civilians and the military, and
will provide healthcare for around 45,000 local people and
specialist services for about 250,000.
Construction work is scheduled to start in July, with completion
due in 15 months.
