Armcon mixes it with Pumpmaster auger
A new mixing auger that allows the matching of top-fed concrete
pumps with volumetric mixers has been launched by Armcon Cementech.
The new auger - called the Pumpmaster - has a discharge height of
1.83m with 6in slump concrete. It is said to be the only one of its
kind currently operating in Europe.
Central to Pumpmaster's ability to maintain pressures at delivery
angles up to 45º is the design of the auger's replaceable
paddles, which completely seal the mixing chamber to prevent the
mix running back.
Armcon's technical manager Richard Calder said: "Our previous
models could deliver a 30° discharge angle, while most
volumetric mixers just about manage 20°.
"An Armcon Cementech unit with a Pumpmaster auger will easily cope
with a 45° discharge angle."
