Griffiths: I want to stay in construction

Nigel Griffiths last week welcomed the chance of continuing in his role of construction minister, should he successfully defend his seat and Labour win the election.

Griffiths told CJ he is not aware of Labour’s plans for the job, but said he will carry on supporting the construction industry, whatever the outcome.

He said: “Many ministerial jobs and portfolios get added to and changed, and it’s not easy to predict which way the role will go. I would be delighted if it continues.

“Whether I continue or not, I will certainly be an ambassador for UK construction plc.”
