Mobilane aims Green Screen at UK firms

A UK firm is targeting green fingered contractors with an 'instant living fence'. Mobilane is targeting the UK construction industry with an ivy-covered security panel, which it currently sells on the Continent.
Commercial manager Sean Farrell told CJ the product, known as Green Screen, could be used on schools, offices, highways and car park projects.
The panels consist of a 5mm galvanised steel fence, measuring 1.8m-high by 1.2m-wide, onto which Mobilane grows a screen of ivy from biodegradable pots at the panel's base, in its greenhouses in Holland.
The panels are fixed to posts after being dropped into a trench dug into the ground.
Farrell said the company hopes to sell 10,000 panels - approximately 13km of ivy - in the UK in the coming year. Farrell assured CJ that the company
has sufficient stocks to meet the targets, as Green Screen has a lead time of approximately 18 months.
Farrell added that Mobilane hopes to add beech and hornbeam to its UK range.
