Rok expands operation with £11m D&G purchase
Rok has paid £11m for Durose & Gourlay (D&G), which
provides planned maintenance services to local authorities and
housing associations in the North West.
D&G has more than 150 staff and the move strengthens Rok's
existing planned maintenance business in the north.
Latest financial results show that D&G generated a pre-tax
profit of £1.9m in the 12 months to 31 January 2005, while net
assets stood at £2.4m. Rok is paying for the deal by way of
£4m in cash, £4m in loan notes guaranteed by its bankers,
and a balance of £3.4m in Rok shares.
Jim Winrow, managing director of D&G, said: "It gives D&G
the ideal platform to develop further. I look forward to a
successful relationship."
A string of acquisitions over the past three years has transformed
Rok into a nationwide construction and support services group. Its
latest annual turnover of £490m produced a pre-tax profit of
£10m.
