Equion/Interserve sign Tyneside deal

Equion and Interserve have finally signed up for the £430m Royal Victoria Infirmary and Freeman Hospital deal with the Newcastle-upon-Tyne NHS Trust. The firms surfaced as preferred bidders in 2003.
Laing O'Rourke Northern will carry out the construction work, which begins on site later this month. The estimated completion date for the entire project is April 2013. Interserve will deliver £130m worth of FM services.
