Birse Metro has been awarded a £3.9m by London Underground for subway works at Walthamstow Central Station.
The project under the Alternative Framework Provider Contract involves fitting out the existing subway, including mechanical and electrical services, and breaking through to connect with the existing underground station.
Dean Rollinson, Business Development Director of Birse Metro, said: "We see the project as an ideal opportunity to develop a working relationship with London Underground to deliver significant improvements to the railway.
"We believe that we can utilise the skills and experience developed over the past 10 years working in the underground environment to deliver a first class project and assist London Underground in improving the safety and quality of the underground network."
Work commences this month with completion in mid-2007.
