JCB compact range to get separate facilities

JCB’s dealers are to set up dedicated companies to sell the manufacturer’s compact equipment range.

All of JCB’s mainland dealers Greenshields, Gunn, Holt, Scot, TC Harrison and Watling, will set up separate compact equipment companies with showrooms at selected locations. These dealers have 43 locations across the UK although it is currently unclear how many of these will contain compact equipment showrooms.

There will be over 50 dedicated compact equipment sales staff who will use tow-and-show vehicles to demonstrate plant at potential customers’ premises.

According to JCB, the compact market in the UK has tripled in the last 10 years to about £225m accounting for 15,000 machines. Announcing the move on the company’s stand at SED, Françoise Rausch, managing director of JCB Sales said: “JCB now has the biggest compact equipment range in the business and the scope to further grow our share in the important UK market is huge.”
