Cleveland Bridge, the bridge design, fabrication and construction company, has secured the £16m contract to refurbish and carry out bearing replacement for the Tay Road Bridge in Dundee.
Awarded by Tay Road Bridge Joint Board, it will commence immediately and last for two years.
Cleveland Bridge managing director Brian Rogan said: “Our expertise in bridge refurbishments contributed to our winning this very exciting contract.
"Undertaking the refurbishment with the bridge remaining fully functional throughout the two-year programme of works will require strong project management and smart engineering.
"The Tay Road Bridge is a vital commuter link from Fife to the heart of Dundee and it is also one of the gateways to the Scottish Highlands, making it integral to the country’s tourism industry. Dundee is a working port, so maintaining the infrastructure will be a key part of our brief," he said.
