DE appoints Drivers Jonas and Grimley

Defence Estates has appointed Drivers Jonas and GVA Grimley to handle the outsourcing of its estate management services.

DE director general of operations David Olney said: "Defence Estates is required to manage a diverse and complex estate. Having carried out an extensive consultation exercise with land and property-owning organisations, rather than totally outsourcing the work, I want to focus on in-house capability. Where there are gaps in this capability, or peaks in demand, then I will look to my estate surveyors to selectively use the support from GVA Grimley and Drivers Jonas."

The contracts have started and run until September 2008.
