Henry Boot Construction (UK) has won a £7m contract to convert a former 22,000m2 Nottingham supermarket into a mixed-use scheme.
The company is due to start work on the project to convert a former Co-operative department store into leisure, office and residential space.
The work will include preserving the 100-year-old building’s façade and its structure.
The building, renamed The Axis will include a 6,000m2 casino with capacity for 1,500 people.
The project will also include a part internal demolition of the building, remedial structural works, refurbishment of the existing elevations, a new steel frame with concrete floor core and new roofing.
