£2.3bn N Staffs housing tender

Housebuilders and developers are being asked to bid for £2.3bn worth of housing regeneration work in North Staffordshire.

RENEW North Staffordshire, one of the government’s housing market renewal pathfinders, is advertising the work in the OJEU this week.

The organisation has outlined a plan to refurbish 36,000 properties, build 12,500 new homes and demolish 14,500 properties over the next 10 to 15 years.

The area is made up of parts of Stoke-on-Trent, parts of Newcastle-under-Lyme and Biddulph East.

It is seeking to appoint partners across four panels: developers; registered social landlords; contractors; and professional services, such as architects, solicitors and chartered surveyors.
Panel members will be invited to bid for specific contracts such as major improvement and building works, facelift improvements to existing properties, demolition and site preparation, environmental and infrastructure works.
