Contract for:
HIGHWAY REACTIVE MAINTENANCE

Notice is hereby given of the London Borough of Redbridge that:
The Council invites tenders from suitably qualified contractors for
the above contract.
The contract will commence on 28th November 2005 and expire on 30th April 2007.
This contract has been advertised previously but the evaluation
process was aborted prior to the award stage. Consequently, the
Council has decided to re-tender this contract.
The contract comprises of Highway Emergency and Reactive Response to
repair and removal of hazards from the highway and to include the
opening and closing of Traffic Management Gates along with
maintenance and minor repairs to footways and carriageways including

the supply and delivery of all materials to site. The Service will
also provide a 24hr Emergency Standby within the London Borough of
Redbridge.
An open procedure notice in respect of this order has been despatched
to the Office for Official journal of the European Union.

Statement of Intent:
* The contract will be awarded to the most economically
advantageous tender received. In percentage terms and in descending
order of priority, this will relate to price (60%), technical ability
(25%), quality (5%), and compliance to the Council's policies on
Health and Safety (5%), and Equal Opportunities (5%).
* The London Borough of Redbridge requires high quality services and
only organisations capable of providing this should apply. Potential
tenders should recognise that the Council will be rigorous in
examining their ability to meet the Council's expectations within the
legal framework.
* Organisations shall be experienced in providing similar services on
a large scale and will be required to complete a questionnaire
relating to information about their economic and financial standing,
their ability, technical competence and other general information.
