Bouygues division snaps up David Webster

Bouygues Construction's electrical contracting and maintenance division, ETDE, has today (Tuesday) bought street lighting contractor David Webster for an undisclosed sum.

David Webster maintains and upgrades street-lighting in London, Middlesbrough and Leicester.

It manages 10 contracts, which range from two to 13 years, and covers over 300,000 street lights.

The company also installs and maintains highway lighting for the western section of the M25, which accounts for 30% of its business.

Bouygues withheld the value of the deal for the £27m-turnover business.

The two firms have already submitted bids as a joint venture for PFI contracts, which is preferred bidder for a £36m contract managing street lighting in Lambeth, covering over 15,000 lights.
