Less than half-a-dozen construction industry players featured in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.
Michael Dickson, chairman of Buro Happold and vice president of the Institution of Structural Engineers, was awarded the CBE for services to engineering.
Suzannah Nichol, chief executive of the National Specialist Contractors’ Council, was awarded the MBE for services to the construction industry.
MBEs were also awarded to: Parsons Brinckerhoff civil engineer Paul Harding for services to highways engineering in the South West; and Colin Evans for services to health and safety in the quarry industry.
Meanwhile, Donald Hoodless, chief executive of Circle 33 Housing, was awarded the OBE for services to social housing, health and local government.
