Edge Protection Federation launched

A new trade body, the Edge Protection Federation, has been established to represent the views of manufacturers and users of edge protection systems.

“With the increasing emphasis on working at height and the advent of a new standard (BS EN 13374) there is a definite need for a single body to represent the edge protection industry,” said chairman Dugie Smith, technical director at founding member Ischebeck Titan.

Other companies signed up to the new federation include Combisafe, Easi-edge, Edge Protect, Fallguard, KGuard, Safe Edge and SGB.

The Federation is developing a code of practice governing the selection and proper installation of edge protection systems.
