Distracted drivers face fines of up to £500
Police forces in the UK are taking a tougher line with motorists
who eat, drink, read maps or undertake similar activities while
driving. This is the conclusion of research by the insurance
specialist A&A Group, which acts as a non-standard
intermediary.
Drivers caught undertaking such activities face a fine of up to
£500 and points being added to their licence.
"While on the face of it drivers who fall foul of such laws may not
be a major hazard on the road, the fact is they are breaking the
law," said Steve McPherson
from member company Hyperformance.
