ISG InteriorExterior has won a £25m contract with CIT Developments to build a residential development in west London.
The Marylebone Village Estates project, in Marylebone High Street, which is due to be completed in September 2007, will see the new build of 38 affordable residential flats, 89 flats for private sale and an underground car park for residents.
One of the project’s key challenges will be the relocation of the EDF Energy substation, located within the basement of the existing Aybrook Street building, which supplies electricity to the majority of buildings in the vicinity of Marylebone Lane.
ISG InteriorExterior will also have to construct and commission a new substation in the new underground car park ramp before the old one can be demolished.
Bob Hill, senior project manager at ISG InteriorExterior, said of the project: “Our strong safety background and experience in considerate construction will stand us in good stead because of the phased handover to new occupants while other sections of the development are still being completed.”
