Heywood Williams sees future in building products

Heywood Williams will concentrate on the design, development, marketing and distribution of branded products and sell its Plastic Systems division.

Plastic Systems, the UK market leader in PVC window systems and cellular building products, produced a turnover of £63.5m last year, representing 20% of the group's total turnover.

Chief executive Robert Barr said: "We have completed an in-depth strategic review of Plastic Systems and concluded that its future development lies outside the Heywood Williams Group."

Current trading is "in line with full-year plans", he said.
